Good starting point and the theory works well. What if you where to start at the top with a funnel to catch more volume into a 6" hose for a while; then step down to 4" then 3" then the 2" and your pressure would go way up. You can experiment with different lengths of hose to tune in your pressure and volume requirements.
Silent Supper Sucker that you my be able to use where mechanical methods are restricted.
You may wish to keep your sluice close or down hill from where you are working. Keep us posted.
