I finally went through my two boxes of halves from last week. I'd been unenthusiastic about it, as I went through maybe $150 the night I got them, finding nothing, and was coming off a 2 week 4 box skunk streak (5 if you count the one today http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,432977.0.html). Reading the boards last night got me inspired enough to finish going through them, and am I glad I did!
After only a few rolls, I break the streak with a '62 Franklin. I later find an '82 proof and an '82P no "FG" in nice condition. Fortunately I date check, as I found 2 beautiful '68 Kennedy's whose edges looked clad - never would have gotten them if edge checking. One of the last rolls netted me a '67.
With this box I achieved a personal milestone, as my found silver was up to 100 halves since I started CRH'ing 6 months ago - 14 x 90% and 86 x 40%. Granted, I don't do a real high volume, but that 100 mark really feels good!
The second box was even better. Another '62 Franklin, 2 x '64 Kennedy's 3 x '67, and 2 x '68. Plus a '73D no "FG", or so I think; it's hard to tell for sure.
Anyway, total haul for the two boxes:
90% Franklins: 2
90% Kennedy's: 2
40% Kennedy's: 8
The best part is that I had been thinking about giving it up, or at least going back down to 1 box a week. The only reason I didn't was because I remember a few months ago going through a skunk streak and doing just that, going down to one box a week, only to find several silvers in the one box, and nothing to follow it up with. I upped my order to 2 boxes, and have kept it there ever since. Just goes to show that you really do have to power through those dry spells.
