I guess I may have to start posting some of my marble finds. I not only find them when I am detecting, but I am a marble hunter, as I live in the vicinity of some old glassware and marble factories. I literally have buckets of finds to post and although I don,t have as much knowledge of marbles as duffytrash, I may be able to help some of you out with your finds and questions.

Wow... and I just happen to need help! I just bought a hugh collection (maybe 40 pounds?) of marbles. No idea what I have in value, but they were cheap, and I've found some nice ones in the lot. Most are catseyes, with a lot of game-board marbles, display marbles (like the clear ones with overcoating to make them look metallic). I know there aren't any super rare ones, but there are some real pretty swirls, hurricanes, and older aggies (glass, not stone, but clear in the center with white striping and red patches). I'll take and post some pictures soon...
