Green grass

I know you've all heard the old saying - or a variation of.... "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence". I am afraid I am one that always falls for that theory. This morning.... I drove all the way down south of Clearwater to go to a new beach. I wanted to try a new area. After all a lot of you guys are finding some nice things down there. I had to go by myself because she had an appointment. I put 20 bucks in the car, drove for over 2 hours and it was raining when I got there. Not hard but steady. I figured well..... I'm plan on getting wet anyway so what the hay...... I put $2.50 in the meter for two hours. I started hunting. I got straight in the water which was not bad at all but somehow not as reasurring as it is when the sun it out. I found very little! I only got 5 or 6 hits IN the water and just could not find 3 of them. The other 3 turned out to be junk, lobster trap wire, etc. I hunted for a little over 3 hours. Boy, it was depressing! Then I had the long drive back home with nothing much to show for my hunt. Well you know what they say about the grass being greener ..... i was doing better right here where I live! BUT... I always think ..... I bet I would find some good stuff down there.... or there. **sigh** My total for this morning.... $1.05 in clad and some sand toys.

Tomorrow I will hunt closer to home!

if at first you don't succeed, try try again, the grass isn't always greener, but sometimes, the gold is.

boy, do I know that feeling. The beaches are hit, and hit hard from Naples to where you live and we keep thinking we'll hit the gold mine. So we change it up, down, left, right.

Just remember, everyday there are new people sitting in different places, swimming and making sand castles, wearing what we call "loot". All we can hope for is to be lucky enough to find what they lose.

Personally, me, myself, and I, just hate dropping $5.00 in the meters and finding crab trap pieces, but I keep hopin.

Better luck to ya next time. BTW, you had a nice little run there for a bit.

Wow that sounds like my drives to the other side of the state. All the finds that are posted from over there and all I end up with are 2 cents and a bottle cap.

At least you had fun today, there is always tomorrow.

Mumszie, for a new beach first time you did great. Maybe not in total # of finds but looking at your finds you found 6 targets that have been in the water along time, i would hazard a guess at well over a year.

So you found drops that others had missed.

Mums, too bad you didn't take home the gold.... but I will let you in on a secret... if you drive just South of Clearwater and stop in IRB (Indian Rocks Beach) you can park on most of the little streets that dead end at the beach for free.... could have saved you the parking fee GL and keep digging
