green semi-translucent with jade properties. nephrite?

Feels cold for a long time.. about a 7 hard.. feels smooth and soaplike. Is it jade and if so jadeite? This is a raw piece that seems to have both qualities nephrite and jadeite? Is that possible?

I don't think you can differentiate nephrite/jadeite without more advanced lab tests.
Might be something along those lines though, if approx 7 in hardness.
Double check to be sure, serpentine can be fairly similar in some cases.
It is softer though, and will be scratched by quartz (7) while jade would not.

Where was it found? I thought jadeite was only found in Guatemala and Burma? US Jade is nephrite correct? I picked up a backpack full of nephrite today.
