Relic Hunting
Hello all. I am a 100% disabled veteran with nothing on my hands but time. I've been roll hunting since I was in my early 20s and have only ever found one silver quarter (clearly I'm doing something wrong, and have been told by a million people/coin shop owners that I'm wasting my time...but I refuse to give up) and a bunch of proofs.

I've recently ramped up my hobby again as one of my boys is old enough to sincerely enjoy the "thrill of the hunt". I'll be purchasing a metal detector here in the next week or so (I've been granted unrestricted permission to MD up on private land in the Rockies) and starting yet another new hobby.

I have a substantial silver collection, but quite honestly I'm tired of paying for each coin I collect. I'm attempting to broaden my opportunities! :)

I love this site. It's been such a wealth of information and assistance for me, and I'm very grateful for that.

Cheers.

Good luck & thank you for your service!

Hi Fuzy, Welcome !! First off, Thank you for your service !!!! IT IS APPRECIATED !!!!,judging by your avatar, you & my father were in the same business,I was born on a SAC command base. Congrats on getting a detector, you and your son are about to have a ball ! our state has so much to offer in treasure hunting. I have been detecting & diggin here since my early teens. Can't wait to see some of your finds. I don't know if you are from Colorado or were stationed here and decide to stay,if you ever have any ???s Please feel free to contact me,& MAYBE I can help. I also am 100% disabled with a bad heart, detecting definitly gets me out in the hills,I can walk & hunt at my own pace, while getting my exercise.Good luck out there. PPC

Welcome to Tnet from here in the mountains in Summit County, Colorado. Hope there's no fires close to you. If you search in the mining country, always keep in mind the possibility of finding a high grader's forgotten stash. Good hunting!
