GTI 2500 or top of the line Tesoro?

Let me help you out some. What is your intended target and area of hunting? Not sure which top of the Line Tesoro you are looking at to achieve that end. I probably will not be able to render an opinion since I don't know the GTI and have only used a Tesor Tiger Shark three times, but at least if you answer these questions you might get someone else to respond. What are your opinions please.

For smooth easy to use general coin shooting get the Tesoro DeLeon or Cortes. I prefer the TID on the DeLeon myself. It's a supreme machine with depth up there with the best (dimes 6-7 inchs).

For relic and ghost town hunting get the Tesoro Tejon. It's a very deep machine and supreme for higher mineralized soils. It can be used as general hunting machine but it so sensitive it takes a little experience to learn how to use it in trashy areas. It can hit on dimes at a no-bull 8-9 inches. Probably the only machines made today that can beat it for depth are the Nautilus DMC IIB and the Nexus.

If money is a problem get the Cibola which gets close to the depth of the Tejon and is an all round great machine but has no meter or adjustable ground balance.

Thanks for the replies. What about the new Fisher machine> The CZ1 or something like that?

not that it means anything, but fisher was just bought out by the company that owns and manufactures bounty hunter. i would personally wait on a fisher to see what thier future holds. ( whether thier warrenties will still be honored, whether quality drops off, whether they even continue to exist!). just my opinion. :)

My opinion exactly about the Fisher lines. They discontinued the CZ20, one of the best water detectors besides the Excalibur and I just have to see where First Texas goes with them.

Between the Garrett and the Tesoro, you will never be disappointed with the results of a Tesoro. An Garrett's warranty is not for LIFE. Otherwise it too is a good detector, but heavier than the Tesoro.
