#1: is a pence of some denomination, can't remember which one but that big fat side is very familiar

The first is an English 5 pence and the second look sliver of some kind. The reeds are close like Canadians and well struck Roosevelts/Mercs: so I don't really know on that one. I will go ahead and guess that it is just a well struck Roosevelt for the second because that seems like the most likely.
 

First definitely looks like a 5 pence those suck. And the second looks shiny like a canadian.
