I went to a bank I had been a few times before and they just seemed to be loaded with halves. Well, I went back today and they wouldn't sell anymore to me...I guess they were getting low.. ???. I drove about 10 miles to a very small town that I have never been to & just as I was getting into this little town I saw this bank that looked new. I stopped in and asked for halves and the manager told me they had 80 rolls, so I bought them all. I opened the 1st roll and saw one silver. I opened the 2nd roll and it was completely silver!!! You know what was going through my head.....78 rolls to go....lol. Anyway, out of the lot of 80 rolls, six of the rolls were complete silver....I was so excited. The balance of the rolls produced another 16 silver coins...almost another roll. I also found a 1980-S and an 1987-D.

I had a box to pick up so I dumped the clad and picked up the box later in the afternoon. It was the best box I have ever received. It produced 35 keepers with a 1946 Walker & a 1949-S Franklin. WHAT A DAY!!!!

All together today I had 175 keepers.

Totals:
18-64's
14-65's
32-66's
64-67's
36-68's
7-69's
1946 Walker
1949-S Franklin
1980-S
1987-D
175 Total

Also bought a new camera today so these are the very first pictures with it. I will get better with the camera.....ha! The pile in the circle with the Walker & Franklin in the middle is what I got from the box.

I'm very happy for you I need to move south lol keep up the good work :o

WoW That is a good haul on the silver!!!

TxTim better watch out...I think he has some serious competition in the coin roll hunting department..... ;)

WOW, What a great day you had. You have the luck of the Irish.
Do you think you can go back to MDing in the spring or will you just keep coin roll hunting?
8) 8)

I cant figure out how every bank you go to has 80-90 ROLLS !!!!!

Jesus LOL.

I drove 6 and a half hours today. 37 banks. I got 23 rolls. 6 silver keepers.

12 banks absolutely had NO halves, not even loose !

Im done road tripping for a bit. All the collective banks in Pennsylvania in its entirety,
wouldnt have 1000.00 in half dollars laying around.... Im baffled.

LJ, I'm gonna stop saying you're rookie of the year. With those stats you can consider yourself a pro! Keep it up before the well runs dry, and congrats!

Enjoy the rush L J,
Enjoy the high.

There will be lean times,
You can't deny.

(Again) great finds !

Alright!!!!
You blew by 1000 in a hurry.
At this rate, you should hit over 6500 by 12/31!!!

PAYoungin,

Im on the other side :) Armstrong/Clarion county area.

OH MY GOODNESS... I have not posted on the site for awhile (no exciting finds) but this one has pulled me back in and deserves a huge CONGRATS! Stories like this keep some of us searchin'...

Spot at $12.92---- Soon that will be but the premium over spot some pay hunters and hoarders like us.

Congratulations. Nice haul.

I've been "coin roll hunting" for years... just found this site. What a surprise to find out that it was an organized sport. What are these boxes you are talking about?

Thanks.
