With the vegetation working its way back into my sites I try to get back as often as possible before it's too late. So today after work I got an our in at one of my favorite sites. I quickly found the 1906 Indian and Ball button. After a while I got a strong 80 VDI signal at 7.5 inches. I was hoping for another Barber or even a Merc, but was thrilled to see the small copper in the hole. I was able to make out enough detail to ID it as a Draped Bust, but like all my other coppers this year, it is almost toast!

Until this year I only found two Half Cents, but already this year I have found three from three different sites. The flat button appears to be an early Navy button...I can see the anchor, but it is too far gone to ID. It is a shame because almost all the gilt is still on the back.

The top left HC in bottom photo is a Classic Head, the other two are Draped Bust types.

I also ran into some competition!

You'd think there would be more of those found, with the series running for quite awhile, but not the case.

Three in a very short time for you. Cool !

Nice recoveries!

Nice half cents, i guess that snake was mad you were taking them, lol. Congrats!!

Nice finds Neil and the snakes are out! I also found a very nice 1808 half cent this past weekend and have not posted yet. Good luck in the future.

Wow! Great find on the HC  What kind of snake was that? We just encountered one last week in the fields here (water moccasin).

Great score on your third t half cent this year Niel  the snake looks like a decay's snake, they don't get very big.
