I half access to a closed golf course to detect. The mower does a number on the coins. Here is a "half cent" I found today!

THEN.........the real thing. Near a site when there was an old house was an 1829 half cent! I never thought I would find one of
these because they were not minted in much quantity. But here it is.

It was a good day in spite of the mutilated coin.

Great looking Half Cent!!! Congrats! :occasion14:

Awesome find! Congrats!

Those are a tough find ! Way more large cents get dug than half cents . I'm guessing you'll be spending a bit of time over there .

Congratulations on the large cent!

I love finding the old copper coins!

holy sweet half

I recently dug a half cent too. They don't come up very much. Most if not all were minted in quanities much lower than the "key date" 1877 Indian head. Don't understand all the love for that coin

Most of the half cents found are much earlier than this.... Great save!

Very nice recovery.

Gotta love those half cents!

Thats a beauty

Steve

Looks like great detail on that half cent! I think I hear it calling for extra virgin olive oil. It wants to be bathed for about 24 hours.

Congrats, great finds!

It is in the olive oil while I take a 4 day trip. Should clean up real well. This one I might send away for cleaning and grading. Depends on how the soaking turns out.
