Hello, I'm somewhat new to this forum, but have been reading you guys' comments etc. for quite a while...yes, very much like a creeper would. Anyway, i have a few questions, and would appreciate any answers you could give.

1. I order my half dollar boxes through Ent federal credit union, and they get their boxes through loomis, so i was just wondering if that's a good place to get halves from, or if the have those machines that take out all of the silver, or at least most of it, since lately i haven't gotten much. (Pictures Below)

2. Are there any advantages in getting the flat, long, one row boxes?

3. Is colorado a good place to CRH, or is there not much to get as far as keepers?

4. Last, i have called almost every bank in my area, and none of them seem to have any of the large silver dollar coin, or Ike dollars, and Ent said that they couldn't order them for me, do you guys know of any bank that can/will order these coins for me, or did the federal reserve stop giving these coins out?

Here are a few experiences I have had.
Flat boxes have been better for me but the main goal is quantity, get what you can afford and keep hammering. You will find silver.
Loomis does not have anyone pulling silver from their piles,it is strictly hit or miss.
Colorado is a great place and damn convenient for you.
Ikes are a bonus, ask for them when you sweet talk the tellers but don't expect much. Too many people know what a silver dollar feels and looks like. There are a truckload of error coins but they will be valuable only after your grandkids have grandkids.

Best advice I can give, Have fun out there. There is still a ton of silver out there for all of us. Jim

What companies pull? My bank tells me they order from my boxes from Wells Fargo.

We have argued this question since Moby Dick was a minnow. There is no evidence that any of the large armoured car companies pay employees to search for silver. My point about Loomis comes from my Wells Fargo manager putting me on his knee and talking about his former employer. In my part of the world, Loomis apparently has at least 2 warehouses which house coins. One of them we will call "The House of Chase". If you get your coins from Chase or some other banks, Loomis pulls your double stacked boxes from the "Chase Warehouse"If you are lucky enough to have an armoured car company who gets their coins from The Fed, you will get your boxes as the flat ones. This has been told to me by a very reliable source.When your bank says they order from Wells, my experience tells me those are warehoused by the armoured car company which serves your area Wells branches. I am pretty satisfied that no one is sitting in a warehouse pulling silver.

I find road trips blow away my boxes no matter who i order from. Just costs more time but is often actually more fun. Scenic drives and good looking and or friendly tellers.

I dont often do Ikes but they offer them pretty often ,also offer 2 dollar bills but not my thing either.
