Hammered Silver

[Westfront]

After the slow sunday last week i went to a new site i never detected. It's a roman homestead with massive amounts of tiles and pottery. Other than nails not much roman stuff turned up.
Medieval silver saved the day! And it travelled some miles only to get lost in a German field....
Got some Roman and medieval pottery, the dark piece in the middle matches an urn (Museum Replica) i have. Lead shows the spot is right, Half Groat Henry VI, roman hairpin and bronze nail, silver shoebuckle part, medieval mount of some sort, only one button, coins and a nice red stone..

Agree, he's better with the pics than i am with the coin in my hand.... And thats with glasses. At least i still see the difference between a Denarius and a Bronze without.

That's a fantastic looking Hammy Westfront, lots of detail left on it. One day I have to get back over to Europe with a detector, I would love to find something like that.
