Hate dimes

Feed the dimes in slowly or switch banks- I know in my head the ones that are off. I take my pennies there...can't get any lower than a cent!

Make sure the tellers know you are dumping dimes only. Get reimbursed later when they find the dimes in the (X) bag on the counter.

I hate dimes too, the shortages from the counting machines were more than the silver value in the keepers I was pulling. I now do much less CRH because of this.

Just reroll them and put them in bundles of 10 when cashing them in. It's what I do and I have never been shorted

No way to get reimbursed at this bank and they do not accept rolls. Probably I need to dump at other bank or try quarters instead of dimes when hals are not available.

Halfs I meant

I dump hand fulls as a time, and i feed it slowly... that is the key to dumping....

D.W.: I'm with you in the same boat. Just when you think you are dumping slow enough, it takes a couple of dime as cents. A lot of times the counter needs recalibration. They Always say, "must have had some cents remaining from the person before you", yah right. Can't prove it to them, they think the machine is always right.

I can prove it every time. My receipt says "X" number of dimes counted as cents. On top of the cent bag are the dimes counted as cents. Once again, the tellers know that I am dumping dimes only. They later reimburse my account.

I don't understand what's so difficult about this. The banks are greedy enough as it is, don't let them take your hard-earned profit.

I lose more from the Canadians I get than miscounts.

FFD, you have a rare and sweet setup. Here its, "Whatever the machine says, is what you get. No exceptions." Some banks even have signs posted at the coin counter stating this and not to use the machine if you do not agree to the terms. They will open up the machine and look, but if all the coins have been counted, then the number on the ticket is THE amount. These banks that have counters will not accept rolled coin, so thats not an option at those banks.

Dimes didn't produce for me at all so I didn't have to worry about it much. When I did dump dimes, I luckily never had more than 10 or so counted as cents in any single transaction. Also, very early in my roll hunting days, the "what the ticket says is law" rule worked in my favor to the tune of about $70, so any shortages were already paid for.

Thanks for the comment Arkie, I did not realize that. I used the counter less than half the time, as I primarily dumped over the teller counter in loose or rolled $500 bags. The main reason I quit dimes was because I was tired of new fees that had nothing to do with my crh buying or dumping.
