Thanks Happy, I may actually go to the bank today, and i NEVER go to banks on saturday's! :icon_thumleft:

Hit up the bank today for $20 in nickels as I'm working with a small amount of cash. Tried to get some halves but was told there was none. Probably just too lazy to get up and ask the other tellers. Just asking for the nickels seemed to be like uh ok why would you want all those.

But thats how my day is going so oh well. Hit the post office to mail a prepaid package and they didn't open til 10:30, so I try another one. Line of a decent amount and only one person working. Everyone else must have been on break already. Hit the bank. Then back to first post office, 5 minutes til they opened, everyone streams in. Fortunately I was able to just drop off.

So going thru my nickels now. Nothing good yet except a 1946 which isn't really anything. Still 8 rolls to go.

I got about an hour til the banks around me close, in the meantime I'm going to buy all the dimes I can afford. Gotta keep chasing it!

No more coins for me to hunt this weekend. My bank couldn't afford to sell me dimes yesterday due to the power outages and the schools being closed (that's right...they said since the schools had been closed all week there had been no change turned in - I didn't know my pickup bank also got the rolled coins from the schools...that could be a good thing with the children buying lunches).

Oh well...we are slowly recovering from Irene so maybe more coins later next week.

Happy hunting all!

Finished off my $20 in nickels. Only pulled 1940,1946,1957 for old dates, but those aren't anything special unfortunately. Shouldn't even bother with dealing with 2 feeder banks. I'll go to the one that I've been using for a long time. They don't seem to have a problem giving rolls or if I wanted halfs. They'll go get them. Plus the teller is looking for stuff for me hopefully.

My bank closes at 3 pm today and 4 pm tomorrow :hello2:

On a Saturday 3pm? Usually it's noon with most. And they are open on a Sunday? Thats very unheard of.

TD bank is "America's most convenient bank"!!! plus they have a free coin counter. Yup, those mythodical coin counters. :D

There's alot of banks in my area that are open until 5 or 6 on Saturday. Too bad this broken rib is slowing me down so much.

Coin counter in the lobby? Wonder if they all have it and if non members can use it. I'd go hit it up just to dump stuff and perhaps see whats in the reject tray.

You must be in a small town, like me.

My Banks are open to 1 or two if at all on Saturday.

I have to drive 25 miles or 50 miles to be in a town with Banks, so I CRH on Weekdays most of the time.

And I not able to CRH every day of the week. More power to you if you can.

Some folks have to work for a livin'. (Like me.)

Keep on Rollin' !

My day was cut short today bc of family stuff, but here are my RESULTS:

$675 Customer rolled dimes
-5 Rosies
-2 Mercs

$168 Customer rolled Halves
-Skunk

3 Rosies, and 2 Mercs came from only $100 in rolled at one branch.....I'll be back ASAP to clear the rest out....

Anytime Im getting 5 per 100, yeah, Im going to vacuum it out.

Well played sir.

Not so many banks open on Saturdays here, and besides I have already covered most of the local ones recently ... so instead it's Yard Sale Hunting. No coins (or phone numbers with potential coins in the future) but I did pick up some glass + sterling silver coasters. Upon separating the silver, weighing, and calculating, I figure that I just turned 25 cents into silver value of about $28!

took up your advise on the saturday hunt, did quite well on the box of pennies, will post results later, very unusual box. Also, have an unopened box of nickels for tomorrow :)

I saw that, Saturdays have a totally different feel for me, I like them better. Probably because Im not rushed bc of work.

I have banks open on Sunday here in PHX too, hence why I can hunt 7 days a week.

So if you hunt every Saturday each week of the year, thats additional 52 days of hunting. Even half of that is still 26 extra days. MMMMMMMmmmmmm, adds up.
