hi all you diggers- i went back to my favorite spot that i thought was all hunted out. its my honey hole! this lot dates back to the ca. gold rush. the buildings all burned down 3 times on this main st . -twice in the 1800's & the last time in may of 1914. one old timer built his next building out of granite, "you aint a gonna burn that down" lol. anyway on this 1/2 acre lot nothing was rebuilt. i know there was a saloon, a leather shop & a hotel there. i flipped over a rock & bam a sauce bottle from the late 1800's. this place has yielded 14 coins: 1894 quarter, 1843 dime, 2- 1892 dimes, 1906 dime, 1869 shield nickel, 1904 V nickel, 1898 I.H., 1 drink token, & 5- good for five cents in trade tokens. 2 rings, about 10 bottles- lea & perrins, Dr. kilmers swamp root kidney, liver & bladder remedy etc.......... old door knobs, clay marbles, GOLD & old buttons.
oh yeah, this time i brought some head phones. OMG what a difference. i can hear every little cherp! so i took my time & dug some fainter sigs. came up with the 2 nickels & the 1906 dime! all in a 6x6 area! so now i have to go back over the whole place again! lol. Can you dig it?!! Happy Hunting

Wow, what a neat place to hunt. Really like all your finds. If you need any help, this retiree, will be on the first plane out your way. LOL

I can't tell you how many people I've told to try using a headset. They just say they can't hear as well with a headset, Yeah Right. We will not tell them what they are missing by not wearing a headset. I like to use one that you can adjust the sound for each ear.

HH, Ringfinder

P.S.

I always wear a headset!!!

Nice digs!
Glad to hear you've discovered headphones!

The last silver quarter I found was just a wisp of willow of wilver! About 9" deep. I never would have heard it without the Jolly Rogers!

Have fun with them!

Congratulations!

Ridley

Nice digs and a great honey hole!

Whoa, what a great spot! Time to start all over there! Good luck!

I agree, Great spot! Are you finding any melted metal from the fires?

The place dreams are made of. Hammer it hard!

Harp, glad to see you discovered Headphones, I won't hunt without them.

thanks for the replies! yes stormtrooper alot of different types of melted metal- lead, tin, copper, silver, gold, but mostly brass. at first i didnt realize i was finding some gold because it was dirty & had corrosion like the brass & copper. i guess it being in the fires & layin there all those years did a number on it. i thought gold didnt corrode ? so i would find it & throw it off to the side! dont worry, i went back lol.
ive got a better pic. of the badge for you blue. it says: sacramento california street carnival / april 30th- may 5th 1900

TT,
Fantastic finds you got there. Congrats. I see you are from San Jose. My family & I moved from there (Campbell) to NC about 15 years ago. I'm suprised you were able to find any open land to hunt on. ;D
Way to go. Thanks for the post and great pictures,
MM

great finds! i've been thinking i need to get me some headphones, it sounds like everyone here agrees you need them

Is that melted Gold and Silver in the photos, buildings have burnt down 3 times there, in that case there will relics going down at least several feet, there could also be filled in basements, you should be instore for some really good finds. Thanks for showing, good luck, and have fun. Ed
