Hearing aids & headphones...

Due to hearing loss from Army service, VA provided top-notch hearing aids to compensate for hi-freq tone losses. I had to use them for MDing, UNTIL I laid the money down for a pair of premium headphones. Truly amazing how the subtle tones come thru, without the $8,000 hearing aids.

HI; I have a similar problem. I can not find headphones that will fit comfortably over my over the ear style hearing aids. This in turn causes mine to squelch badly but when I take them off the headphones work great. Do you guys know what type headphones will comfortably fit over my over the ear style hearing aids I'd appreciate any info. PEACE:RONB

Like billyjoe42, my hearing aids were given to me by the VA and are very high quality hearing aids. Also, like you, my hearing aids are "over the ear" type hearing aids. I found that while using my standard Garrett headphones that came with my AT Gold, I don't need to use my hearing aids in order to hear anything well. It also depends too on what type of hearing loss you've suffered as to what tones the headphones will, or won't, assist you in hearing better with your hearing aids out and just usiing headphones.

Well, My hearing aid pickes up my detector fine without earphones. Now on the beach with my Surfmaster, I don't have a choice, I have to use those rather stiff earphones that came attached to it. Having a detector with a good screen display[XLT] helps also. Frank...

Hi Folks; I hear you on the suggestions. Thing is I'm almost 100% deaf in the High Note Range so I "NEED" to use the hearing aids. Thus it is that can anyone tell me of a good set of headphones that will meet my requirements ?? Thanks. PEACE:RONB
