Found a couple of these "heavy metal" iron hubs of some sort! Would love to know what they were used for! Does not appear to be threaded! Wagon or farm equipment?? Found at a Civil War battle site in South Louisiana but could be cane farm related too! Thanks again for any help in identifying this "heavy metal"!

It does look like a wheel hub, but from what I haven't a clue.

At first I thought maybe part of the back of a small canon. But this is just a guess, I’m no expert. Congrats on whatever it is.

google OGEE Washer

if you ever fish under bridges for Sacalait or Crappie (White Perch to some) they are on ever bridge pier bolt.
Not CW but they could be from an older bridge pilings or bulkhead.
Most are made of Cast Iron, some are Galvanized for Marine use.

It's kind of hard to tell from the pics but it looks like a hex style hub nut. If so, it's most likely a hub nut from an antique car from back when they had wooden wheels. If it's a square nut it's a hub nut from a wagon wheel.

Could also be the blade washer from a cord saw. I have a very similar piece in the barn.

They look like the big washers you see on brick houses that have that big long bolt running through it to hold the end walls together. Sometimes they’re plain like yours and sometimes they’re fancy.

I agree with buck8point, big bolt washer, those big cast iron washers are a dime-a-dozen under old wooden railroad bridges. I didn't know what they were called (or that they had a specific name) so thanks buck!

Thanks for the great info.... I do believe the Ogee Washer makes the most sense! It was found very close to a railroad also found quite a few railroad spikes on the hunt! Again, thanks for all the expertise! Greatly appreciated!
