It looks like the type of jewelry made by craftsmen/jewelers in the 1970's. The high karat may indicate what karat the metal was when melting, reducing gold with Krugerrands (22K) etc.
Another possibility, is 22K jewelry from places like Indonesia.

Was told my one could of come from somewhere like Asia. They say the hole in the back is so the stone can touch the skin

Well. It's getting looked at by a well respected appraser. He saw the photos and thought it was worth a second look in person. I had to send it to him so he's going to look at it this week and let me know if it's worth getting appraised. I'll update this post, with the results next week. Fingers crossed.

Well it wasn't what I hoped for. I had it looked at and they used an electronic tester. 18k...not the higher karet that I tested it at. Modern piece. Oh well, try again.
