Found this am. I does appear to be wrought judging by the fibers although I’m not all together sure. My best guess is maybe top to a gas light/lantern although I may be way off the mark. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank y’all!

yep. Case closed. Thank y’all! I wish I would have joined this site a long time ago. You guys are really helpful.
Gulf Coast Pirate did the ID.
Though most older folks have used this type of bumper jack a few times.
They were from time when bumpers were steel and served a purpose, not just a plastic molding as today.
Welcome to the forum, lots of wisdom added up with the members.
Sure does help when a person can't ID a recovery.

Yeah, I used them not only to jack up the car, but also to break the bead from the rim so I could get the old tire off the rim and put a new used tire on! Glad those days are over!

I think it is the bottom to a bumper jack.

I had some hands on training with old bumper jacks. I am so old that changing a flat tire was a part of driver's training Now there are many more modern ways of dealing with a flat tire Such as a cell phone to call a repair shop or tow truck to have it replaced So you located a relic from the not so distant past when society was more self reliant .
