Help! I'm looking at a couple different models here

Hi Fellas,

I don't have much time to type this before work so let me make it short and sweet. I'm pretty new to detecting and was going to get the Fisher f2 because I've read a lot of good things about it for its price. Then I did some more shopping and found a Whites Prizm IV and a Teknetics delta 4000 for the same price of $200.00
Should i go with one of these instead of the Fisher since they are a lower then normal price or is the fisher every bit as good?
Please help me make a decision because the store is only going to hold the detectors until tomorrow night???

Also can someone please tell me the pros and cons and what are the benefits of one over the other

Thank you guys!!

John

Can hardly picture any 200$ machine being very great, but the Prizm IV would be my choice out of that group you mentioned, if you can really get one at that price.

detector

For that kind of money I would not get either, I would go with an Garrett Ace 250.

The F2 performs better than any of them.

Fisher f2!!!!!!!

I'd go with the White's. Looks like you have quite a dilemma. Good luck!

I've used several machines in the $200 range and the F2 is the best I've ever used. Highly underrated!

I'm not brand loyal AT ALL, I like what works! The F2 works great!

Get a brand new Compadre for $189.

Thanks guys for your fast replies!
I was going to get the prizm iv but after more research it seems to be the old coinmaster?
So in other words why not just get the newer coinmaster. Then I did more research on the tekenetics and it seems to be a really good detector and is owned by fisher i think. The tekenetics delta is selling for $280 right now and i can get it for $200. It seems to be able to do everything the fisher can do plus a little more.

If I'm wrong feel free to chime in, but again, it appears the prizm iv is an older machine and not as good as the fisher or even the ace 250

Has anyone tried the teknetics? I know the fisher is popular and a good machine based on reviews, however it would be nice to get some advise from someone who has used both.

Thanks fellas!

I've read good things about the Teknetics Eurotek with the 11" DD coil, it's their latest. But I don't know anyone that has one.

Same here, I'd check it out!

The EurotekPro I should have said.

Online air tests look good.

I say, wait for next 200 else you dont have a good pinpointer...

Well i went with the delta because it was $200 and lightly used. Seems to work well, i like that you can notch out things and it has two different all metal modes. Still not sure what the difference is, or even what the difference is between the discrimination and all metal modes? Anyone care to chime in?

discimination allows to appear linearly metals from low to high conductivity. notching allows certain areas to hide in the entire spectrum. it is for example possible to make iron (very low conductivity) can also be seen, while aluminum is ignored and all metals will continue to appear with higher conductivity than aluminum. Sorry for the bad english ;)

Download the manual, there should be an explanation on discrimination with tests you can run to set it.

I prefer all metal which means no discrimination, it goes deeper on a lot of detectors.

Go with the Garrett ace 250 and also buy a Garrett pro-pointer.
