okay tried to get a good shot of the markings but thats not going to well
has a box with a 5 in it
then under that

It seems to be the right size of a pocket watch.. I really think thats what it isit has the key hole as Baron pointed out.. and what looks to be a broken hinge. The upside down house symbol with the 5 in it seems to represent the year. The upside down house was used by one of the silver companies for the 50s and the five would be the exact year 1955... About the right time frame.. this house was built in the 60s and was an orchard befor that. :) My first silver with the XLT woo hoo and my BH went right over it :)

Yep...it is definitely silver...I have no idea about the hallmark but I would bet a couple paychecks that it is silver.
