Help! Military Buttons 1825-1859, Any Sources?

I have found some buttons in Micanopy, Florida but I cannot find anything on the internet to help identify them. I believe they are from the second seminole war or later or just before the civil war. I need to find an on line source with pics. I have been trying for 6 months. AAArgh!!
