To balance the letters on the 'banner' - Bridgeford seems to fit well.
There was (is?) a Bridgeford porcelain company, some stuff on ebay (via google)

but it would be cool if it came from here

thanks mike think you have it sounds right and I wish it had come from the hotel prob not but the title "The " seems to refer to a place I think I will email them and ask thanks infact I think i see the I in the top left of the picture
