Help on how to dowse

I just tried dowsing in my backyard. My copper crossed and in the same spots every time, and didn't in the same spots every time. Very wierd, and when they did I'm pretty sure I was standing on top of water lines and I felt a strange static electricity type feeling through my whole body. My main question is how to apply this to finding placer gold deposits?

Please help! I'm very interested in this!

Are my copper rods sufficient for finding placer gold nuggets? Is there a certain length the rods should be?

Bait them with Placer Gold

Like a vial full? Big pieces to find big, small to find small?
