There is such a thing as a double grooved axe but they are very rare. I think the question you meant to ask is whether your axe is a full groove or a 3/4 groove. To answer that, we need to see a pic of the bottom. If the bottom and the top look the same, it's a full groove. If the bottom is flat with no groove on the bottom it's a 3/4 groove. Gary
