Help please can't figure this rock out.

I found this rock. it looks like its a metal and rock, its It's non metallic and doesn't contain nickel. but its bizarre looking, It doesn't leave a streak. Ive tried to figure out what it is. But I keep hitting dead ends. If anyone can recognize what this. It's an orange color with a metal looking exterior around it. Found it covered in this. Just something really bizar I'd glady appreciate anyone who can give me any feedback or idea's on what it is. I've attached a few photo's. I posted once before but nobody responded. I'm really puzzled here.

Did you find it in a creek. I found one something like that out in a field, all by itself, and kind of figured there had been a fire and it melted some glass, but don't know that for sure.

No I found it in the street. (we live near water but it was found in the street.

My guess is an asphalt pebble, but I have found lead sulfide that looks similar to that, the colors are more of a reflection on the surface and can be scratched or burnished away.

I know. I thought that also. I scraped what I could off, But its still metallic looking under. I will try and break it haven't yet.
