Sorry, but here is another question about a flat button. I searched for the back mark but couldn't find this exact one.

The back reads Superfine Standard. It's about the size of a dime and has a somewhat rounded edge. The front, which is not pictured is plain.

Any information would be much appreciated.

The flat buttons seemed to be popular from the 1790s to about 1840s. The backmark on your button was just an attempt to show the so called quality of the button. It was fairly common for a while as we find quite a few marked somewhat like that. I kind of suspect yours may be British, but just a guess.

the about 50 year era of 1780 o 1830 --was the main time frame of flat button use --the wording is a typical "quality" "puffing" type statement of that time (basically "our buttons are better" ) many buttons used in America at that time were made in England (who were a huge exporter of buttons and crockery (plates and such) back then England was like China is today --a exporter to the world at large

I'm guessing early 1800's, 1810-1840. Usually when you find buttons there are also coins around.
