Can’t find my scale atm but I plan on looking into it I think it’s bronze but it’s really heavier than I thought it should be.
There has been a lot of flooding and it looks like the Patina is old though
Bronze usually has green oxidation. I remember a thread from a few years ago about a guy who found a bunch of ingots in Maine. I think his name was Stryker. Once he cleaned up one of the ingots it became clear that he hag gold. Nobody has heard from him since. Stryker is gone man.
Check if it a common tael or tola weight. These weights are used in Asia. Fingers crossed.
I’m kind of afraid to clean it any more. I let it soak in some water n dish soap for like a minute but my mom said to not do anything more as I might affect the patina?
Welcome CFT, congrats! It's all about the metal content. It certainly doesn't look to have been tumbled in the river.
The metal contend is going to be interesting to learn. It looks to me like an image of a corn plant and it's reflection
in the water.
I found this on the shore after major flooding I feel I really should keep in mind the location was once a popular trading and rest area for indigenous populations and early explorers to Canada.
