Been helping Dad with a little yard work and afterwards helping him sorts through remnants of his coin collection. Most of which has disappeared due to sticky fingered people. Someone helped their self to a bag of silver dollars and halves, a three legged buffalo and a complete set of SLQ's. We managed to find one 1914D wheat, at one time he had seven, and a 1922 plain wheat. I found a 1834 bust dime in a pile of wheats. I said that is beautiful and he said take it. I didn't find it metal detecting but had just as much fun looking through a part of my Dad's life that started when he was 9 years old. Might get a holder a put it on a necklace. Regards, Keith

That is a treasure for you to hold onto and cherish for the rest of your life. Great story .. Thanks for sharing!

Thats frustrating! Someone worked hard to get all that and then they come in and steal everything.

Sounds like a truly special day.

But, if you put the coin on a necklace, it better be a half inch thick chain. ;)

Seriously, I think it might be better to such a special coin in a VERY safe place where you can look at it anytime you feel like, for the rest of your life.

HH!

I cant stand sticky fingered trash... but seemed like a good day with your dad

Thanks for the replies everyone. XLTer I have decided against the necklace and put it in a nice box.
