Awesome story rock, thanks for posting for all to see and read.
Reminds us all that there are still amazing things out there just waiting to be discovered by someone!

Thanks its GA rebels find of a lifetime. I just got the journal and am going to send it to him for his find and the history of it.

That makes it all the more awesome rock, and super congrats. To him!

WOW...that's amazing...and so nice of you to do that.:icon_thumright:....& thanks for sharing!

I have actually held this pipe in my hands. It is incredible!!!

Wow really cool why do u think it preserved so well? So who found it? GA rebel??

arrow86,

If you click on my banner find under my avatar, I think it will send you to my original post.(?) It was, and still is the best find I've ever found. I started hunting in 1977 as a kid in the Tampa Florida area. I now live in SW Georgia and that is where I found the pipe. It was in the bottom of a local creek.

I'm sooooo happy that it didn't crack when it dried

So did I! Did you fall victim to the curse? It turned me into an old man! I was 39 before I held it, now I'm pushing 65!

That is a world class relic. I held a few pipes in my time and found one real simple beauty myself. But that is one of those world class finds. The peoples that made something that beautiful were true artists in every sense if the word. I cannot help but think about their role in the cultures. Pipe makers had to be specialists. It cannot be like the pieces that artist made immediately before or immediately after was just a plain pipe. Maybe it was, but this cannot be the first jaw-dropper the creator created.

Thanks for sharing this one.

thank you Rock, I'll look into it! .........you rock!
