day started out slow then i started finding lures then a thin nickel
then some sinkers. One thing you can count on at a lot of Cape
beaches is fishing gear - they fish out here all year long - you can get
some monster size striped bass out there = ive had some giants breach behind
me more than a few times when ive been far out - being not too far from where great whites are sighted
...hearing loud splash out of no where will keep you alert
silver thing on right is a flashlight. I used to get a lot of silver coins here but not that day - lot
of the older clad gets thin here - lot of them will fall thru most scoops and get left
behind - since i wear a mask - water here is clear and you can see small thin discs on the bottom
and i can take them out - gotten 100s of them here over the yrs
Dog tags were like my 3rd signal - went off funky chain being stainless and tags being aluminum
I will try to return them

you wont find much trash here - fair amount of water hunters detect here and most
take all their trash out - discriminating is not necessary here
Nice thing up here is that the salt dissolves the bottle caps and bobby pins and most
small and thin steel (like hooks) - it even will dissolve thin aluminum also
Not like down south where bottle caps get caked over the yrs
see the very few pieces of trash lower left of pic
I hunt in all metal

Are you allowed to detect the Cape Cod beaches near where the Whydah wreck is?
that is the national sea shore which is prohibited - a company has a permit

Are you allowed to walk on those beaches with no metal detecting equipment ?
