Here's what my new V3i found that my old 6000 Di Pro couldn't...

Hit a favorite spot of mine again after work tonight. Its a square, about 150 feet by 150 feet. Earlier this spring I ran my 6000 Di Pro SL over this square 4 or 5 times in different directions. This spot has given up a couple hundred coins in the 10 years I've been searching it. After I searched it earlier this year (very thoroughly, I thought), I figured it was hunted out. Not so, I just needed an upgrade. I found the V3i to be more capable of separating "iffy" targets (even with the 10" D2 coil, as opposed to the 9.5" on my 6000 Di). I'm still just learning how to fine tune this remarkable machine, but I was able to learn some good lessons tonight!

Very cool...found several of those over the years...never knew they were hem weights. Thanks for the info!

Now there are some really nice finds. I use a White's Prizm5G which has been good to me and found some really cool items, but feel that I'm ready for an upgrade also. I have been looking at the V3i along with the DFX300. I'm having trouble making up my mind on the choices. I thought that maybe the V3i might be a little bit complicated and difficult to learn. It's also very pricccccy. What can you tell me from your real life experiences about this machine? May your find multiply.

Very nice finds, that lead weight is a neat old find from the late 1800s, early 1900s used in womens dresses to keep them from blowing up in the wind.:icon_thumleft:

My thought is if the spot is that small I might be inclined to dig everything. Good finds though!

Nice finds!!!

I have the VX3 and the CtX 3030. You have encouraged me to bring out my VX3 and give it some dig time at an old church I hunt. We'll see what she can find.

Good luck on that hunt...and show us what you find!

WOW! Good digging.

I may not be the best person to give a "complete" review of the V3i. I've got about 10 hours on it so far. I can tell you that my first reaction was to pay attention to the VDI numbers first. That's wrong. Listen for repeatable signals first. Second, not all good targets are hi-tone. All Indian Head signals have been choppy or broken so far, the 1881 came in at 51-52 VDI, and the 1859 Fatty came in at 47. But it does "lock" onto the more promising targets, I just get a good feeling to dig, but I still can't completely explain it. Hope that helps.
