Hi everyone!
Just a quick post to introduce myself.
I just started out metal detecting.
Bought myself some basic equipment (Minelab Vanquish 340) and already had a great time at a local rally.
Last week I helped out some locals to try and find a lost wedding ring.

Unfortunately not…
But the couple wasn’t 100% sure they lost it there, so I can’t be too disappointed.

Not sure what you mean?
I checked it before searching.
The couple only lost one of two identical rings, so the other was present at the search.

If you take a coin or ring stand it on its edge, and check the reading. Then lay the coin and ring flat on the ground and check the readding. See if they match readings. Does this help. AQ lot of times you will get a diffe=rent reading from it;s edge to laying flat. Not all coins or rings lay flat when dropped in the grass. Does this help you understand ?
