Pulled this drum out of the trash today, roughly 30 inches across. Question, do you think it's Native American?

Look to see what the walls and any hardware are made from. (Plywood, modern screws, Fiberglass are all signs it’s not old.)

Depending on how thick/tall it is, it looks like a powwow drum (big enough for a couple of people to drum together.) It could be a Boy Scout project, a tourist souvenir, a modern musical instrument, made in Mexico, India or China.

Well here are 3 stretched skin drums I have. I did some trading with Larson back in the day. The largest is only 14 inches across, and skin one side only. They are still made and used these days, and are fairly common up here.

I can tell you what you found isn’t a hand held round dance drum like these. Josh is probably right in that more than one beat on that thing judging from the size of it.
