got up early to beat heat and went metal detecting at the high school and located the same stuff pull taps ,and 8 lincolns a dime, well no silver or jewerly . maybe some can help me out in I used the discrim iron and pull tap/ 5 cent. am I going to miss out on all any silver or gold finds?

By using that much disc, like missing pull tabs and nickels, you are losing 90% of the gold rings. Class rings should mostly ring up higher depending what they are alloyed with. Silver is very conductive and will respond higher.

thanks for advise ill dig up all pull tabs im getting good depth I found pt around 8in today

I know that if you get "pull tab" on your screen it isn't fun to dig but let me tell you that I find many coins that read pull tab . I know that in my country metals are different, so for me digging the pull tab signals is a must.

yea I get discourage when a dig up pt after pt but ill find my silver or gold

Most silver chains are in the pull tab area also.

Lower disc.will pick up them gold signals,also the pull tabs and tops.If your seeking gold,your share of scrap will most likely be dug.That's just the nature of the beast.Good luck & happy hunting..............................................
