Hole In Ear Bull Moose

Going through more trail cam videos and this Bull Moose showed up with a hole in his ear. My guess is that he was shot at during last year's hunting season and the bullet
was way off mark and went through his ear and now is nicely healed. Lucky Moose ......

I agree with robertk, it looks like a hole for an ear tag that probably fell off.
