… and we are back in the game! Went off to a new field today, this one is the other side of the hedge from our best fields near the pond!

I know you all love the shiney coins, but for me it’s the bits… and what a stunner I found… this gorgeous complete buckle… could of happily given up for the day when I found this… but knew you would want to see more 😂… so in with the next one… thinking part of a brooch, I’m seeing a face front end on? Maybe… ? Then a bent little something another buckle, tack hanger next (?) then some straight bits, broken buckle bits, then the biggest dandy button to date! Couple of lead bits, clearly had a purpose, crusty pre dec coins, buttons, a Nuremberg Jetton 1586-1635 and a holed hammered, in a poor state xx

We are off to a wedding tomorrow so no detecting 🫤 but hopefully we can get back out on Sunday and Monday xx.

Congrats on a great outing!
And a pile of goodies to attend it.
The holed is in the running for near pick (s) of the day. It almost wants wearing.
A marriage during your prime detecting holiday? Not in a field with detectors?
What primitive (no offence) people would do such?
l.o.l..

Weddings over rated when they dig into the digging time.
Must be someone special.
Congratulations if he's finally come to himself's senses.

Thanks RC xx I know… it was a hard choice… but she is lovely… and has a house smack bang in the middle of a Roman settlement along side a Roman River crossing… so if Himself can avoid embarrassing us, (I plan to feed him a constant supply of toffees, in order to limit his ability to speak) they may invite us over to detect on their land 😆 xx

New type of hazelnuts to me, too. We have just the little, beaked variety on wild bushes here. They taste good but are scarce and so small are hard to get the meat out to eat. Those big ones must be delicious!

First item is only half of a 17th C Spur Buckle.

The next item would have been a good find complete - its a Celtic or Romano-Celtic Terret Ring from a horse or Chariot.
