The scoop cost $20 and 1.5 hours of my time to make.
(Yes I know that's what it looks like)
I tested it in a 'secret' swim place today....it works OK, I need to make some of the holes larger.
But I managed to get some clad, a toy car and a silver ring that was really, really tarnished.
The photo is after cleaning.
Thanks for looking and good TH'ing.

Congrats on the Sweet find! If the scoop is coming up with silver its first time out, I would say it's a winner!

What did you make this out of? Does the lip have an edge or is it "rolled" like the rest of what we can see?:icon_thumright:

It was a restaurant pasta cooking pan (from Goodwill..$1.99) and it does have the rolled lip all around.
I am go to try to flatten this out on the low half.

That came out great and the price was right !! A great silver too boot .

Down the line you are going to have to send off and get a real scoop like the Sunspot Stealth. Those will outlast many of your scoops. I know they cost a couple bucks, but how much is your time worth?

Tis true...I really don't expect this one to last long, but it gets me in the water right now and if I prove to the wifey that it's worth going in, then it's worth spending some dough on the real thing. :icon_thumright:

Homemade,can't go wrong,,WTG:icon_thumright:nice silver ring,pretty hefty too:hello2:,,HH

Nice, this looks like my home made scoop.
Made mine from an IKEA thing not sure what you call it in english but its used for knifes and forks and stuff to dry after beeing washed, looks like your pastathing though..
Worked good in dry sand but not in wet sand..
But cheap it was.

Sweet find with a nice scoop! It is a good feeling when something that you can make works well!

Exellent ring find fred, the scoop looks pretty good also, good luck with it.:icon_thumleft:
