Hi.thanks for taking your time to look at this,,, I always wanted to know the weight,,I don’t have a scale so I hope I’m close

I would say you’re pretty bang on. Basically a balance scale like the ones we learned on in school. I think they were called triple beam balance scales. Same concept.

Irishgoldhound,Thank You for the great great reply,,This morning we had our first snow fall,it was a very wet snow causing branches to bend way over, temps tonight will be in the twenties,,I hope when the weather improves I will continue to look for the pot of gold,,Take care. Bill

Good exercise in engineering but not gonna be very accurate. For 10-15 bucks one can get a very accurate oz, gram, and carat reading digital scale that is super accurate and will last for years.

Well bill.....now you have to weigh that ring on a real scale just to see how accurate you were !! Most of those class rings are pretty heavy pieces....12-18 grams. Heaviest I've found in the class rings was 18 grams !! Happy hunting bill !!

Gunsil,,hi thanks for the reply,,someday I will get a scale when I hopefully want to sell some items, but for now it’s better than nothing

Blak Bart,,hi thanks for the reply. I hope all is well, yes someday I will get a scale but for now the scales I like are sold out,,I just got a new scale to monitor my weight going into the winter,,I think that’s more important than seeing what a ring weight is,,I hope the water is calming down where you are,Happy Hunting take care ,,Bill

Irishgoldhound,,Hi. Very very cold last night, most of the snow is gone now,,I hope to get out next week and have the excal2 find some nice things take care,,,Bill

gunsil,Hi thanks again,,I was just trying to get in the ball park and teach my granddaughter how to possibly check something when scales aren’t available,,Take care,Bill

It’s a great set up. It’s basically how the Romans used to weigh things. It can be quite accurate. I’d bet you’re within 0.5 of a gram.

Irishgoldhound,,,Thanks I wanted to show my granddaughter how to possibly measure something without a scale,,It’s great to see a smile on a child’s face when they learn something new,

Stewielouie,thanks for stopping,,take care ..Bill

Louie D thank you for stopping,,Thank You for your service,,,,Happy Halloween
