I got out for a half day hunt with Carolina Tom & Smittyman yesterday, the ground was easy to dig from Friday's rain and it was cold, but not as cold as last weekend. I got a couple things but the highlight of my day was finding my second class ring ever (class of 1991)!

My first target of the day was this little early 20th century transit token from Duke Power

Keepers included the class ring, the transit token, a maxi ball with a little age to it and the cut-in-half promotional thimble. Also got some clad and 5 wheaties.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Looks like a nice outing, and a very nice class ring.

Hey Kurt that’s a great ring
I thought it was older than you said on the story
It had that great old gold look in the dirty photo
Still a Gold ring is a gold ring
Great recovery hh gl Charlie

Thanks treblehunter, you know I don't find much treasure so this was a fun one!

Hey Charlie, yes the ring had more wear than the age would lead you to think. Hope you're well buddy.

Kurt what machine where you using and do you remember what VDI it was hitting on? On the ATP mine was a solid 55.

P.s. I still have mine[emoji4]

I swing an XP Deus (version 3) and it hit 53 - 56 on Basic1 program (12khz) if I recall correctly.

You didn't mention the school name or can we see it on the ring. I'm guessing your going to keep it! I would after I check a few websites to see it was lost. Some people who has lost a ring will assume if it has a name people would return it so they don't do anything like post it on a lost and found website. I figure if you lost it you should put your 2 cents in and post that it was lost.

The school was West Mecklenburg, it's actually kind of worn so the lettering took a minute to figure out. I've looked a little bit to see if I can identify the original owner, challenge so far is the websites I've seen for class members require you to join their site. I'll need to invest more time on that.

Thank you sir, yes it was a ladies ring.

Initially Tom was very gracious, a little later on he was back to the Tom we all know and had nothing but the finest of verbal barrages. I'm not sure why, I offered to help him set his machine up for gold :laughing7:

Just think about how Tom would of been had you not helped him set up his machine. Tom can certainly string the English language together in such a way that he’ll leave you dying from laughter, so I could only imagine.

Great find buddy! You killed it and set off CT - that’s a double win! Lol

Oh yeah, my favorite is when he says "say that again" :laughing7:. In all honesty, no matter what he "says", he wants anyone that hunts with him to find good stuff just as much as he does. That's what makes it fun, I think we all do, that's what makes this community great.

That's a beautiful gold ring! Congratulations!

Way cool and awesome!
