a 1911 V nickel in nice shape at least 40 rolls into the box. No keepers up to that point. Then a dateless buffalo nickel showed up a few rolls later.

I have only found one in the wild as well, it is not nearly as nice looking as yours. Mine was a 1905, at first I thought it was some European coin because I just saw a V rather than the Lincoln monument, and I was pissed. Then I flipped it, saw united states, and realized what a sweet find it was.

I tried my hand at cleaning this to remove some surface rust. What do you think? The bluish tint is from the flash.

Cleaning coins is not recommended - collectors want coins with original, uncleaned surfaces. It wasn't a super valuable coin, but its value is mostly gone now.

Good job on the V. I have been lucky enough to pull 2 from rolls since May. I think one of mine is an 1800s but the date is so hard to read and it has marks like someone sanded it on a belt sander. Nice find!
