March was the driest in 50 years, so called April Showers has be as dry as a bone. Farmers are having issues feeding their live stock, as the grass & hay is not growing & they used up last years hay. This year the hay will be poor, just to compound the problem Wheat prices (bread) will probably increase with the poor yield :P
I spent 2 hours jumping on my spade on solid clay, maybe making 1/2inch every 2 jumps I'm not going out again until the rain comes, but it maybe some weeks
Anyway, managed a few finds:
Plenty of 19th C Lead 2 Smooth Enfields numbered '1' inside (just checked, these are my first No.'1's)
1 nice 18th C pewter Button
3 Scrappy Roman Coins
My fav find - Victorian Coin Weight (for a Gold Sovereign) A new addition to the weight collection.
