Would have posted this stuff yesterday but the heat completely wore me out Ended up with a few more decent finds.. The ring is from a couple weeks ago, just forgot to post it.. found it hiding in the cabinet today

Yeah, Jeff, we had a tough day of diggin yesterday but did manage a few keepers. Those Merrills that we pulled out are better than the average MinieBall so we surely didn't walk away empty-handed....the fatty is cool too...Tomorrows a new day though

That looks like a pretty decent hunt. Always nice to get a fatty. I have a site in Virginia where the troops had target practice. It's nice to dig a few if I've skunked out that day. First few trips I dug over a hundred each time... But most of the bullets there are either swaged ones (all six-point), williams cleaner, or an odd little round that I can't ID yet. (It isn't in M & M's book).

That coin is great. It was made during the civil war... MAke you wonder who lost it. Could be Confederate States or Northern one.
