Hadn’t got out to look for a few weeks decided to check out this little spot where a dozer had kind of cleared an old path back out through the woods and it kind of sideswipes a site that I have… i’m glad it survived the dozer. Just missing a barb and I can’t decide if it has an intentional needle tip or that’s just kind of the way it wound up.

The top photo I'd be inclined to say it had a more recent hit that made the chipped off barb.

I went back and did a little test hole next to the road to see kind of what density I was working with I found a little bit of Flint with some somewhat unusual material for the area, but I also scored a little section of trade pipe

Very nice! That one is exceptionally long. Mine are all one inch and under, a courtesy of cultivation! I like them anyway. Congrats!

Got another full piece yesterday, after a year of basically nothing my luck has definitely flipped, this was on the edge of an animal burrow under a log

Went back to look for the other half of that big blade and got a little distracted looking for mushrooms and then I thought I’ll walk up this creek, it spits out good fossils fairly regularly. When I saw this…I’ve always thought that creek should have artifacts, I find them on the bluffs on either side, but I’ve never found so much as a good flake in there before… I was finally proven right and in a much more dramatic way than I expected. I can’t believe how many artifacts are popping up after the rains.

Nice point! The little scraper above it is also very nice. The thin remnant of cortex makes it even better. My collection of those little scrapers is growing and like yours, many are quite finely made. Very displayable.

Maybe this is why I don't find much in creeks -- I don't see anything but rocks and leaves in that first photo. I see something which might make me stop and look in the upper left, but it doesn't look anything like the artifact in the other two photos. Help me get the eye?

This one? I would just say it’s a scraper with cortex that little curved edge looks like it got plenty of use… but I could see it

I noticed my vision fading when I was hunting mushrooms. I walked past some then spotted them. I then tried some cheater reading glasses. Over the counter 1.0 diopter helped my vision tremendously when looking at the ground. Depending on your eyes, it may help you. They are cheap and worth a try.
