I recently acquired a CZ-6(A?), and was told that it was a CZ-6A, but it does not say that on the detector, it says CZ-6 Quicksilver, I have researched it a little bit and it does have a gasket on the battery cover, which the manual I downloaded say it should, and it has a 5 pin coil connector.

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the CZ-6 and the CZ6A?

By the way it works GREAT, and it will stay with me for a long time.

The original CZ-6 came with a short pigtail that the headphones plugged into. This was to make the headphone jack more water resistant. If I remember correctly the pigtail screwed onto the face plate. The other difference was the coil connector was crimped onto the coil wire and could only be replaced at the factory. They had problems with both of these and soon changed them. Any machine that went back to the factory was upgraded to the CZ-6A by removing the headphone pigtail and replacing it with a headphone jack in the faceplate and changing the coil plug. The upgrade was free.
