Howdy Ray,
hey , im new to prosp. mode too.
I do have the book, but I tend to have to go back to it alot.
If you want a BUNCH of info , on this topic, and/or on the MXT.
And a quicker reply.
Go to findmall.com
Go to either the
Whites MXT forum, or the
aussie/yank prospectors forum
Theres people there that use the Mxt daily.
and know the machine
They also read posts daily.
Try that ,, you'll like it
Good Luck
Dusty

It's only effective with a GND of 70 or more.

With It turned off set to PROSPECTING and TRAC to GOUND

Hold the coil waist high and turn it on, set the GAIN to the lowest position. Quickly switch the TRAC switch to LOCK. The GND reading should say 50, if not, repeat the steps.

Next switch the mode to RELIC and lower the coil to the ground. Squeeze the trigger to pinpoint mode and find a spot with no metal in it. Now release and re-squeeze the trigger. Screen should say DEPTH=12 and a low threshold. Keep the trigger squeezed and raise the coil waist high. The depth display should show a value indicating the strength of the gorounds mineralization.

0 - 2 = high mineralization
3 - 5 = moderate
6 - 10 = low
