How Does A Tree Grow This Way ?

Seen a lot of odd shaped trees but this one takes the cake.... My son's blind and mine as the crow flies are 2 miles apart. If one of us happen to bag a deer
we can text if we need help. The other just hops on the quad and goes cross country back roads and trails and within 25 minutes we can help each other. This odd growing
tree was along the side of a trail that we use.

Looks to me like the tree was logged (cut) and it regrew from the stump.

If never logged and the trunk is continuous, something had to interfere in order
for it to grow like that. Maybe another tree fell on the top as it was growing, and
it had to make a turn in order to continue growing upwards.

A number of ways. Genetics, environmental hardship such as snow or other trees causing it to lay over. Lots of trees way crazier than that up in NorCal. If you're up that way take a trip to Trees of Mystery. Wish I still had photos of the crazy cathedral and other trees I found wondering the woods.

Trees are amazing. I'm currently wiring some of the Ponderosa Pines on my mining claim into a configuration like that so I can cut them down into Bonsai in the future.

The tree fell down but some of the trunk stayed attached and the tree was able to heal and get back up, it's essentially a natural form of grafting.

Not seeing any trees worth logging.So was probably logged and had a tree fall on it and rot off. Could have been a storm. See it all the time.Tress get bent over by another tree ,fallen tree rots off ,bent one grows.
