How far do you drive to detect?

Sux with gas prices no matter how far we drive. Most of my drives are atleast 20 miles roundtrip

Last year I drove to Tonopah, NV to dig in the dump. Met up with some friends from my metal detecting club. We had a great time, not much treasure, though. Anyhow, that was about a 1000 mile round trip for me. I'd do it again someday if I knew I'd be meeting up with some buddies down there.

My travel range most of the time is anyware from 1 - 30 miles. Gas prices are killing my trips much farther than that.
