How long did it take for your machine to pay for itself

December 12th,2012,is the last day of the Mayan callander,but not the American calender.If you do any reading about this date,it doesn't say the world will end it says it's time for a new beginning.I can remember a group of people who said that January1st.1990 the world was gonna end according to the Aztec calender,well that was 19 years ago and were all still here. :laughing7:

I'll start my Christmas shopping on the 13th, just in case

As for paying off the machine, it already has as far as my enjoyment to the hobby. I'm not going to get rich on clad and a few pieces of silver :laughing9:

Bought my BH Landstar from Cabella's in Owatonna ,MN in 1998 while my wife and I were out 'truckin around'. At every truck stop we stopped at we hit the boundary areas where the homeless panhandlers camped at night while they were out on the streets with their hands out during the day .
End of 7 weeks the BH was paid for and also half of the Pedersoli Sharps we bought at the same time .
Do I thank them for losing their clad or the fools that gave them the money in the first place ?

When I bought my bandito2u-max,,, about one week,,,, I dug a 1829 -curled base 2, capped bust dime!!! you can go to the red book on the value of that big dog!!!! it was a g-4 coin,, that was in 2002, did not take long to pay that machine off,,, with a little change left over,,,, lol!!

had a cheap radioshack garage sale find $25 dollars.had that for a year. purchased a minelab xterra 50 within a month found bunch of old railroad baggage claim tags.sold some of them(about 40 or so).ended up paying for my xterra,and it paid for my safari.(i like the safari alot)hh to all.still got $ left over.yeah that might of been the find of my lifetime but who knows.~~~~~~ I DONT LIKE TO SELL THE STUFF I FOUND...but i found 171 of them. so i will part with some.it has made this hobbie virtualy free.

Mine was paid off when I bought it. The payoff was the everyday fun it gives me. :hello2:

(in clad terms, it's about half pd off) in 8 months.

Monetary value means nothing to me. Mine was paid off the first time I found a wheatie. That was the first day. :thumbsup:

Funny you should ask I found a nice shot ball . One of the first times I went out.I looked to see an old bottle about ten yards away and fond about 600 old bottles when all was said and done however the detector did not actually find them. that find was worth 20 times my detector. 250 +_was what I paid for it. most of bottles I sold on average 7 dollars apiece . That may not count but if I wasn't out m.d. I would not have found the bottles.

One good hunt. You can see the coin that did it spinning over here to the left.
But then again i didn't and could never sell it so it doesn't count. The more
i think about it, it will never pay for itself because i can't part with anything i
find. I sure do have a lot of fun with it. That's worth a lot.
